So, I stumbled upon (using www.stumbleupon.com) the following site:
http://iwl.me/
Apparently the site does an analysis of some sample text you provide, and then spits out which known author's writing style is a match.
I entered two different blog posts, which I considered to be quite different in terms of tone and style, and both times I was matched with H.P. Lovecraft. And well, I am curious to read some of his work now. Which sounds very...unusual: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/H._P._Lovecraft
So folks, I am interested in hearing who you write like! (Partly in case the program simply spits out Lovecraft for everyone, and partly just out of general curiosity). Happy analyzing...

Apparantly, based on three random entries, I write like Dan Brown, Stephen King and Gertrude Stein. I am clearly VERY conflicted! :/
I just tried it, too - just plunked in three of my blog entries from the past week. I apparently write like Jack London, Dan Brown, and David Foster Wallace. Seems like Gwen and I have something in common!

Loved this! I tried 3 entries, the oldest chronologically was compared to Kurt Vonnegut, while my 2 more recent samples were compared to Cory Doctorow!
Apparently, my most recent blog post was written in the style of Isaac Asimov.
LOL... okay, I put several posts in there and kept getting Chuck Palahniuk. Don't know him? Neither did I. He wrote Fight Club. You know, the crazy movie with Brad Pitt where the men all beat the crap out of each other? Yeah. He's know for "black humor". LOVELY!!! ;)
